Woodend Winter Arts Festival has arrived!

The Woodend Winter Arts Festival kicks off tomorrow evening and we are in for four days of fun and inspiration. The forecast looks great, our amazing musicians and speakers have arrived in town and there is a definite buzz in the air.

Opening Night Fireworks with Synchronised Music

The Woodend Winter Arts Festival will kick off tomorrow evening with our annual display of fireworks at Woodend’s Buffalo Stadium. This year’s promises to be bigger and better than ever before with free musical performances for all to enjoy. Japanese drumming group Taikokoro will wow the crowd with their drumming skills before the Royal Melbourne Hospital Scrub Choir takes to the stage. The event will then culminate with the fireworks, which for the first time this year will be synchronised to popular classical music.

Event timing:

5.00 – Gates open, food & entertainment commences
5.15 – Young Voices of Macedon
5:40 – Taikokoro Japanese Drumming
6:05 – Royal Melbourne Hospital Scrub Choir
6.30pm – Fireworks to synchronised music
8:00pm – Gates close

High St Festa - Saturday 10th June

The inaugural High Street Festa is shaping up to be one of most exciting free events on Woodend’s calendar. Come along and witness colourful artworks by local artist Mary Lanarch-Jones as they illuminate the town’s historic facades (see a sneak peek of what to expect above). Enjoy free live music and pop into one of Woodend’s many cafés and shops, as they stay open for late night trading. The evening will culminate with a flashmob Big Sing, as over 200 singers from six different join forces to perform some lively and popular tunes.

Event timing:

3.30pm – High Street Festa commences
4.20pm – Outdoor choir performances commence
5.00pm – light projections by Mary Larnach-Jones commence
8.40pm – Choral Big Sing
9:00pm – Event ends

Woodend Winter Arts Festival Box Office

For those wishing to purchase tickets during the Festival or at the door, drop into our Box Office, which will be open each day of the Festival.

The Box Office is located at the St Ambrose Primary School, Templeton Street, Woodend – between the Hall and the Church.

Box Office openings times are:

Friday 3:30 - 8.00pm
Saturday 10.00am - 8.00pm
Sunday 9:30am - 7:30pm
Monday 9.00am-3.00pm
